February 24th 2009, Trogdor Juxie was laid to rest. He is survived by his litter brother Aidan, who belongs to Kim Howard and his cat family Shizzle, Ruprecht and Lil Edna. He was hit by a car while playing outside. His funeral was held immediately after and was attended by family Chiara T, Kim H, Mark B, Rich and Jen R, Gabby  and her children, and Julie Dl. He was buried with his favorite toy, a christmas stocking, the feathers from his first bird, his favortie cereal and some sugar( because he liked to knock over the sugar bowl and dig in the sugar)The funeral was followed by a wake at Pizza Hut where the family shared memories of the departed. Some of the memories included:

How he loved to play with dogs, and even comforted and groomed Chiara’s dog Olivia when she was scared of Shizzle

How he went in and out the door every 5 minutes.

How just Wednesday he took his first walk with the family and the other kitties down the block

How he ate a dog biscuit.

The way he knocked over the sugar bowl so he could play in the sugar.

The way that no matter what time in the middle of the night you woke up, he always woke up and was ready just in case you wanted to play.

And other very sweet memories of a very sweet kitty. The house seems very empty without him this morning.

I’m sorry for your loss. This is the price we pay for letting them enjoy the good life instead of keeping them locked inside. I hope you find comfort knowing he was probably having a wonderful time in his last days and enjoying his life to the hilt. And a pox on the (expletive) who hit him.

Oh I know he was having fun, I kissed him and gave him a snuggle not 5 minutes before he was hit. He got a bird two days before, and took his first walk with the family the day before. No pox on the driver, I live very close to the school- it was after school pick up time and lots of traffic. It was a mom with a car full of kids. I’m sure she felt terrible. I feel bad for her.
